Would a TOPswitch like the TOP252 work with an input of 24 Volts DC?

Posted by: carlosic95 on

Hi i'm currently designing a power supply that can work with inputs of 24, 48, 120 and 240Volts

For this purpose i'm using different transformer ratios, one for 24-48 and another ratio for 120-240

I haven't seen a design with an input lower than 85 VAC, but i read in the datasheet that the drain supply has a minimum of 18 Volts

Thanks

Hi,

If you look at the datasheet it shows that it can turn on at 18V but the junction temperature should be <85degC. Above 85degC, the minimum drain supply should be >36V for TOPswitch to turn on. So you need to guarantee that the junction temperature is <85degC for it to reliably turn on.
